Kurt Bevacqua was an infielder with the 1984 Padres team that played against the Detroit Tigers in the World Series.“I remember the city coming together and remember our team having a lot to do with it. It was a fun time –it was just a great time in San Diego baseball history. It really jump-started the city as far as being good baseball fans,” said Bevacqua.Bevacqua hit two home runs in the series against the Tigers, including one in Game 2 that helped the team win its only World Series game ever. Today Kurt devotes much of his time to supporting cause such as Ryan's Reach.
